Winter & Spring Courses 2025/2026

Courses from December through January

Email me to sign up. First come, first served

8 weeks, from Dec. 1 to January 25

Cost: $250/course

  • Intermediate Conversational Latin:  Intermediate, say language teachers, is all about "me". While being able to talk about oneself is necessary, nobody wants to be that person who can't shut up about themselves. We'll get to know each other and learn the practice of dialogue: how do we take turns, what facilitates this, how do we agree and disagree. These are just some of the skills we will be focusing on to move to more advanced ranges of speaking.
Schedule: MWF, 7-8pm EST
Participant cap: 5
  • Euripides, Medea: I doubt this needs much introduction. We will read the entirety in Greek. Some parts are very simple for the experienced reader; others, especially the choruses, are still disputed by the most learned. If your vocabulary is primarily based in prose or have never read lyric, be aware in advance that you'll spend more time with your dictionary than you might expect.
Schedule: Tues & Thurs: 7-8:30pm EST
Participant cap: 8
  • Plato's Apology of Socrates. Does this need any introduction? For this course, we will also be reading chapter 1 from John Sallis's Being & Logos
Schedule: Sat & Sunday: 10:30-noon EST
Participant cap: 8
